The arts flourished during the Tang Dynasty. It was during this time that poetry became an integral part of the Chinese culture. Poetry originally was a required study for those who wished to pass the civil service exams. Talented poets were well-respected and often recited their poetry as entertainment at parties. Some of the great poets in Chinese history lived during this time such as Li Bai, Du Fu, Li Po, and Wang Wei. While the Tang Dynasty is most famous for its poetry, and it continued to develop into many different forms.
In recent years, Chinese poem has become famous in the worldwide. For example, when US President Ronald Reagan visited China in 1984, he raised his glass and blurted out at the welcome dinner: “ Although were side in far corners of the world, having a good friend is akin to having a good neighbor”. This is the well-known poem which written by Wang Bo “海内存知己，天涯若比邻”.
In classical Chinese literature, there is no better work than poetry, and English is the most widely used language in the world. As persons who love Chinese culture, we hope to translate the most beautiful poems into English and share them with people all over the world.
